The TSX closed today’s session at a strong 32,870.36 points. We are getting very close to the 33,000-point mark, which is quite striking given everything that is currently happening around the world.
I won’t be updating my investment portfolio this evening, but I’m likely sitting at around a $536,000 net worth right now. My non-registered portfolio closed today’s session at $167,981.30, my U.S. portfolio at $5,813.78 USD, my RRSP (stocks-only) portfolio at $100,890.37, and my TFSA portfolio at $160,873.40.
We are off to a very strong start for the TSX in early 2026. It’s somewhat surreal to watch, given the current international context. At this pace, reaching a $600,000 net worth within the next few months doesn’t seem unrealistic. After hitting the $500K milestone in August, just days before my birthday, $550,000 now feels almost too easy to reach.
I still have a few hundred dollars in cash patiently waiting to be invested in my TFSA and RRSP portfolios. Yesterday, I invested in the following ETFs in my RRSP:
-
Global X Copper Producer Equity Covered Call ETF (CPCC)
-
Global X Copper Producers Index ETF (COPP)
-
iShares S&P/TSX Global Base Metals Index ETF (XBM)
-
Sprott Physical Copper Trust (COP.UN)
-
Sprott Physical Platinum and Palladium Trust (SPPP)
The goal was to add some diversification to my portfolio through metal-related ETFs. I wouldn’t mind increasing my exposure to any of these, or adding more gold-related ETFs, such as Sprott Physical Gold Trust (PHYS). So far, my investments in Sprott ETFs have been quite successful.
I may also add a small position in silver ETFs, but only slightly.
