My annual dividend income is getting closer to the $12,000

I enjoyed another day in the woods in New Brunswick. Here are my latest pictures:

The TSX close today's session with 18,621.02 points. My stocks portfolio gained over $5,000, which is all more than welcome. My net worth is currently probably within the $315,000.

I had been updating my dividend Excel sheet and I found out that both Fortis Inc. (FTS) and Emera Incorporated (EMA) had increased their dividend distribution. Regarding Fortis, the dividend increase had been announced a little while ago, back at the end of September. Regarding EMA, the dividend increases haven't been announced yet but they will probably be announced more clearly on November 11, when Emera will discuss its Q3 results. Our economy will eventually show up signs of recession, but they're nothing to worry too much about, especially since great companies like Fortis Inc. (FTS), Emera Incorporated (EMA), and not to forget North West Company Inc. (NWC), who announced a dividend increased in the first week of September.

My overall annual dividend income is now exceeding $11,800. With the dividend income coming from my non-registered and TFSA portfolios, I now earn enough to cover my monthly rent, my cell phone, Internet, and cable bills. It's quite a huge deal for me. For the next couple of months, I don't expect to do any extravagant investment moves.

Since I did so much overtime at work, I made a lot of money, but if I don't invest a couple thousand for my RRSP by the end of Match 2023, I will probably have a bit to pay back in terms of income taxes. I have never been a huge fan of RRSP because I feel we should be able to do whatever we want with our money. Stocking money away for retirement, without having the possibility to benefit from it in any way before turning old and gray is not my view of what is financial freedom in my opinion. However, now that my net worth is more sustainable, I don't have many excuses for not investing a few thousand in my RRSP portfolio. No excuse at all.

The fact that I am planning to spend the next couple of months in New Brunswick is very helpful because I have no temptation to spend much money here since there's just no coffee shop or anything close by where I live. I can survive such conditions for a couple of months without any problem. And by the time I hit back Montreal, I will have successfully saved a couple of thousands of dollars. Let's hope so.

What kind of birds are in that picture? Did you hunt these? Are you going to eat them?

We name those birds "perdrix" in French. In English, I think it's the name partridge. Yes, we hunt these (my father did), and yes, we definitively plan to eat them :-)
