Things are getting better for now

I wake up at 9AM while I wanted to wake up at 7AM. Soon after I begin my day, I went to see the person I wanted to see regarding my schedule. I don’t know which schedule I will got, but something will be done about my request. So far, seem to me that me schedule problem will be resolve. It’s always difficult to deal with such things. But I was told it was going to be alright and I didn’t have to argue… Which, of course, I was ready to do. So I consider lucky because I will be able to work at both job and I am very happy about it.

But I am glade I did something about it today. My investment portfolio lost a lot of value, but I don’t worry to much about it. The stock market is so volatile. Myself, most of time, when I invest, I invest in order to hold. I am not a major seller. But seem like some other fellow investor are selling like crazy because all of my investments, in different sectors, had lost in value today. But that’s how the stock market is. The key is to invest in dividend paying stock. That’s what Derek Foster said in an interview. Even if he sold his investment portfolio, Derek Foster is so right about everything.

If I take a look at my portfolio, all the money I lost came from investments I pick, some penny stocks and other. I lost money from companies who were not paying dividend at the time I purchase them. This is the case with Timminco (TIM), Sprot Inc. (SII), Hanwei Energy Services (HE), Blue Note Mining (BNT) and Dumont Nickel (DNI). Those companies were not dividend payers at the time I had invested in them and I lost money from them. I still want to invest in more in stocks.

I am currently doing overtime again at my job. I am desperately looking for a 1 000$ paycheck. I will be able to do it, but only if I do some hours again tomorrow and again Saturday lol. I really need the money and money is so difficult to earn, but so easy to loose… I am very temps by a 100 units of PGF.UN right now, since I have 6 units of them in my investment portfolio right now… So many things I want to do and so little money available! I know this can sound strange, knowing I sell my 650 units not too long. But remember I sell at profit? I want a little slow down for PGF.UN. PGF.UN target price is 12$. If I can purchase 100 units at 10$, I could possible sell them later on at 12$ and sell again if I want, to make a profit. Wouldn’t be marvelous? I have the possibility to open a broker account and my trading will be under 10$... So I really need to open the account as soon as possible and get ready. But just too many things to do right now.

Work problems

I have so much to say on what happen today! My evening job really sucks! They are so rude! Or I should say one of the managers with no education was rude with me today. I know the schedule for next week is not out yet, so it’s giving me all the time of the world to have my schedule change to the new one I wanted to submit. But I was told I couldn’t select my own schedule and so… Just of a remembrance of whom I am: a simple employee… So when I ask for an update of my request later on in the afternoon, I was told by the poor man that he had a meeting…

After 2 years being at that job, I never took vacations, I never miss one single day of work, I had always been available to do some overtime. And now what? In return, I am being treated really disrespectfully. Not to talk about the shift trade I had been generously being doing with my colleagues when they where in need of a weekend days. I did several times those kinds of shift trades while I was out of my weekend job. I never ask for anything. And now, with my only request in 2 years, I am being rude. I do not do drugs, I don’t hold a criminal record, I am always at work. And what do I got in return? NOTHING.

More than a year ago, I ask for a regular shift, from Monday to Friday, I ask for the evening shift, and I got it. Now, I am asking for another shift, and nothing is happening. Why? Because the poor guy didn’t want to submit my request right away. Just too lazy. I know he didn’t. Because more than a year ago, the exact same thing happen to me. It took me 2 weeks to get my regular schedule. But this time, it’s going to go faster, I am not done with them. No one have the right to refuse a shift change to me knowing how hard I had been working for them. So guess that tomorrow I will have to wake up early to see the supervisor in charge, another one of course. And we’ll see from there.

Some managers are so lazy; they are not willing to do anything to support their team. But their employees should be their top priority. There’s just no caring in their manners something. Just too often. If I would be a manger, had an employee who never miss a day of work always doing overtime asking for a favor, of course I will provide whatever the employee want. I should be their top priority ad that’s what I am going to say and explain tomorrow: your employees should be your top priority. The schedule change I am asking is not that much as a change. Sure tomorrow I am going to wake up early and go see someone else. And I am going to filed out a bunch of complaints. So lazy, so disrespectful!!!! A I am very upset right now because it’s the second time ever I am facing problem with my schedule at that job.

But could it be it, wouldn’t be just the time for me to move on, concentrate on my training and than, when I get my fix schedule after the 6 weeks training look for a second job if I want to? This could be the perfect solution, depending of the answer I will be getting from my evening job tomorrow.

I got the job!

I call 3 times today for my upcoming job. I had enough of waiting! I couldn’t wait any longer! So I call… And I call 3 times. On the third call, I told myself I could probably never get hold of the person I wanted to speak to… So I left a message and got a return phone back shortly after… And that’s how I learn everything was ok for me to follow the training for the job next week! And I am pretty happy about it. I am feeling a lot better now, that’s for sure.

Until that time, I have mass of things to do! Like my usuals (too much cleaning and boring stuf like that ;) and also, giving my schedule for my evening job… That schedule will be valid for 6 weeks, after, I will have to make it change again. Just hilarious. The training is during daytime, but we finish late, so I won’t be able to do my regular evening shift… I will probably be able to arrive 2 hours later. So tomorrow, I will try to begin my day earlier to see someone for my schedule.

As for the other thing, too bad, my stocks and units portfolio investment is currently under 27 000$. It was doing a lot better just before I went to work today. In the meantime, I don’t know what happen. Guess we are still in that recession…

Today update

I just wake up by the sound of my pager at 11:30AM. Just received a call, but it wasn’t the one I was expecting! Its actually for another job. But that job even lower paying that the one I waiting for a call… I try to call the person I saw last Monday at the interview, but no answer… So I will try again, and if I cannot reach him, I will left a message or email… But the security check should definitely be ok. If not, someone had done a mistake somewhere… lol.

My stocks and units investment portfolio is currently at 27 176.07$. Which is always better than what we got in date of October 10th. And compare to last Friday, I gain 45$! Super great. At least everything is going ok with my investment portfolio. And how about the job? I truly don’t know. I am going to call again this afternoon, if I am lucky, I might be able to reach the person if not well, life goes on.

For the next following days, I will try to do the things I wanted to do and will do them, even while waiting, and waiting, and waiting…

Getting back on track

This weekend, I didn’t do nothing much. I was in a mood to nothing at all. I wake up late on both days, went to bed way to late too. It was a nice time off I have to say, especially today. The weather was beautiful today in Montreal. I went for a walk to the Park Lafontaine. The sun was out and it was pretty cool.

This weekend, I could have did some hours at my job since there’s currently overtime available, study the bank Web site for which I am probably be working for, got a hair cut, do my grocery, my laundry, clean my cutty little apartment, cook for my lunch… But guess what, I didn’t do anything of the above. Nothing at all lol.

At a point, I have too much things I am giving myself to do and well, at the end, I am ending doing nothing at all. But I have to say, I feel tired. True I walk a lot today, but I shouldn’t feel tired, especially after a weekend, but I do feel tired. Part of this laziness of mine coming from the other job. Like I am still waiting for a formal confirmation. Is a security check supposed to be long? I got my interview last Monday. I felt out the form, got the letter saying I am employed, but I was told I have to wait for their call before showing up to the training. But I cannot stand waiting anymore. It’s the reason why I cannot do anything right now. I need to know as soon as possible or I am going to die… Of course I am not truly thinking this – but its partly describe my state of mind at this time. Also, I need to give a notice for my schedule at my evening job. I want to continue to work there, but it’s just my hours will change a bit, but I am confident it won’t be a problem. At this time, I just want to know where I am going. And still, giving them a call won’t look like I am doing too much as they know I am currently working…

If the whole situation turn good for me, I will be giving an answer while calling tomorrow, I will be tell that everything is ok and for the hours giving at my evening job well, it’s going to work fine too lol….

I didn’t hear from my weekend job in a really long time now, so I guess there’s still no work available. Those times are kind of stuff. I am still able to manage, but it’s tough and rough. And having a job without really knowing if it’s official or not is even harder. Stupidly, I sign on for a credit card with the bank – maybe too quickly. But I like credit card, I just couldn’t say no to a credit card offer.

And just to come back to my credit card debts, I completely pay off my TD Visa. Since I am not working as an escort girl lol, I plan to do a balance transfer for the 500$ (which couldn’t get higher soon) from CIBC Visa to my TD Visa, at the rate of 4.9%. With only 70$ or so left in my banking account, I am very happy to have that balance transfer available. I am saying that my credit card could get higher, because if I have my banking job, I might be in a mood to do some shopping. But it won’t be too much. If I can finally have an official yes. So tomorrow is the true day, the day if I am going to know (or not) what’s going to happen next to my little person. In case of a negative answer, it won't be the end of the world, I will register to a dating site and start dating, just to do something with myself. Sure someome out there somewhere want to date me....

Other than the stress of not knowing for sure, I am pretty happy with everything right now. My investment portfolio is doing well. I just cannot wait to purchase more stocks. As soon as I receive the confirmation that I got the job, I will definitely look into open a broker account with the bank and I will try to put money aside for future trading. Looking good for a first 60 000$.

The investment of a lifetime: Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN)

I did around 4 hours extra on top of my regular shift today. It’s very difficult to do more hours than that lol. For now, everything is going fine. I would very much like a 1 300$ paycheck, after taxes of course. For that, I am willing to go to work on Sunday. I will definitely take my Saturday off. I need it to study some stuff for my upcoming job. My stocks and units investment portfolio is now at a fantastic 27 208$! Up of 689$ compare to October 10th! Not bad at all. Pembina Pipeline Income Fund is so just fantastic. For the first time ever since I have that investment in my portfolio, Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN) exceed the 16$ per unit. That was on today!

I was just looking at my TD online account and saw I had been offer a transfer at 4.9% for a transfer of balance… So I might pay my current TD Visa balance which is currently at 460.26$, keep around 80$ in my banking account and... tadam… transfer the 504.13$ I have on my CIBC Visa over my TD Visa at 4.9%... I couldn’t live without credit card balance transfer. Like that thing.

Until I can pay it all. But that will have to wait for my next paycheck… So everything is going so fine right now. Just so much fun. It’s not going so bad with my overtime either. What I learn from myself by working at the job I have right now: I can work 12 to 14 hours on a row without screaming at any of my customers… Isn’t sweet?

Pay night

I did some overtime today. I was completed exhausted, until I went out for a coffee late in the evening. My goal is to do 6 hours extra tomorrow AND on Friday… I really need the money. I would very much like to earn as much as I can on the next paycheck. Really crazy put the overtime is full-open, I finally ask. So I did 4 extra hours today, plan to do 6 hours extra tomorrow on top of my regular shift lol… I just have a few hundreds dollars left to pay on my TD Visa and CIBC Visa so I really want to pay it all. And after, no more expenses. I need to do my lunch and drink my own tea instead of drinking coffee. But I have to say, I am not suffering too much from my expenses. And this night is pay night… just received a 1 033$ paycheck. Which I was really in need of. I might have enough to cover the totality of my TD Visa actually. But after (counting after the rent of November…) I will have left 73$... I prefer to only have left 73$ in my banking account and pay out my debts. I am so close of being out of credit card debt. I really need to focus and control my expenses. And for me it’s me cut on junk. I might fit better in my jeans after that… To my surprise, my investment portfolio – the stocks and units one – is doing just fine. I am just praying to see Sprott Canadian Equity to reach the 35$ per unit. I want to see this now 50 000$ reach in investment to continue to grow until I start loosing weight.

My 6 units of Pengrowth Energy are now in!

Fun PGF.UN dividend

This is really funny. I had sold my units of PGF.UN previously this month. I had than sold all of my units, because PGF.UN had cut their dividend distribution and is wasn’t fitting well in our dividend goal. I am happy with the changes in my investment portfolio. Just yesterday, I had received 65$ in dividend from PGF.UN. But the dividend came in form of units…. So I now have 6 units of PGF.UN in my portfolio… And I will earn a few cents from their very tow low paying dividend lol. That was for the funny part. Stuck with PGF.UN forever… But PGF.UN is not a bad investment. It’s just the dividend cut that is annoying.

Work and overtime

As for the work part, I will try to arrive early (12PM) at my job today. Those are my only 2 weeks left. There was a problem with the system yesterday, so I guess today we might receive a lot of calls and a lot of calls = overtime. My throat is bad today. It may be time for a scarf and gloves…

Investment: Timminco going better

Timminco (TIM) is gaining is value! This is the first time since a very long time that the value of Timminco gains in price… Timminco had increased their production and had called back their employees for work. Very good news! Since we still hold Timminco, we hope for the best and any increase in value will be welcome coming from our part. Also, Sprott Canadian Equity Fund is going better too. Currently, our stocks and units portfolio is at 27 142.06$! Which is an increase of 623.06$! Even better than yesterday. We really deserve this! Hope things will continue this way.

Is it the beginning of a new financial crisis?

I read somewhere that the increase of the price of gold and the too quick increase of the stock market might be sign of another crisis… But didn’t I get enough yet? Lol… So is it time to sell my valuable investments? NO… We will deal what is next to come, with anxiety and stress………. But investing is that much stress. Sure it’s awful to see the TSX loosing points, but with all the money the governments across the world put into companies, into the stock market, I remain confident. I taught we were out of it now. And my way to see it is that the crisis had affected the richest among us. Which mean they had valuables left, like cars, boats, etc… And that once sold its providing money… So they cannot be left without any money to spend, since they continue to live……. Isn’t a crazy taught? But my taught was that because the crisis had affected a country like the US, people might had savings, if not goods they can live on while being under their employment benefits for a short period of time. Things might not come like it was before in less than 2 or 3 years, but still. 2 or 3 years is not that long. It’s not the end of the world. It’s the beginning of a new world. Hope institutions will look deeper into things and make sure it will never happen again.

Other than that, exciting times for me as I continue to wait for news from my new job but I guess it should be ok because after doing all the papers and opening what I had to open well, if I am not definitely hired… It just the waiting delay is annoying. But a security check is just a security check, right? Like I don’t want to spend my weekend at studying over something that might not happen.

I "may" got the job

I went to the interview. I had trouble to talk lol. I am always very bad in interview. Not that bad, but still. I am always so nervous! To my surprise, I am hired! I just have to pass the security and reference check. Which I should pass. I guess the most important part is the security check. As for the reference, I just hope it will go fine. I am quite happy, I guess I will study the bank Web site while waiting for a response. After, if I have a positive answer, it will be a lot easier for me.

Currently, my stocks and units portfolio is up to 26 951$, an increase of 432$. I am not even making that money in one day. I just hope the day end this way! Or even higher. I guess I am around 53 000$ if not more at this time. If I get hired at the bank, things are going to be a lot more complicated on my blog. The goal of my blog was to expose every investment I had on the first place. But now, blogging about the whole thing will be difficult. Because I don’t wan to get undercover. So I might simple expose the investment, without exposing the name. See the bank offer a stocks program. I don’t know how I am going to be able go keep writing about investment while working for a bank. Maybe I shouldn’t tell it here on my blog at the first place… But it’s too late now…lol... I am getting a free banking account... but I didn't have the courage to ask if we were getting a free brokerage account... like I don't want to ask too much and appear weird. But couldn't be so nice, no commission fee?!!!!!

Because purchasing stocks and investing in the TSX is not for me - especially for someone who's middle class see - but I do it anyway. So I didn't ask, and I didn't told them yet either that I want to manage one their mutual fund yet.. because you know, I was only joking while I wrote that.. previously... lol :)))) So I guess, just blogging in general terms without naming name or other stuff related to the bank won't get me into trouble. Or maybe am I already in trouble?
:))))))))

Dividend, overtime and job interview

Other dividend earnings

Earlier this week, I earn 27.08$ from Yellow Pages Income Fund (YLO.UN) and 13.13$ from Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN). I was very happy to finally receive my dividend. And I can’t simply wait for next month. It’s going to be just even better. For the month of October, I am only missing 2 dividend incomes. I should received sometimes next week or so 65$ from PGF.UN (that I now had sold) and BNS (50.47$).

Job interview

I have my final interview tomorrow. I hope to get the job. The weekend went pretty smoothly. I went to work yesterday and I took it off today. I did some cleaning (amazing my apartment is super clean lol), I later on went downtown for a little while and buy a pair of earrings. It was beautiful in Montreal today, the sun was out, and the weather was perfect. A nice autumn day, just the way I like them.

With the overtime I did this weekend, I hope to get around 900$ paycheck. I would had need 1 100$, but I didn’t do enough extra hours. But I will catch up on next pay. For the job I am going to an interview tomorrow, the training start in November. Its giving me some time ahead to do some overtime.

Is there a way out?

If I get the job I am going to for an interview tomorrow, I hope to do the training, which is suppose to be during daytime and keep my evening job. I would like to work at both jobs for the upcoming months… until I hit the 150 000$ in investments. And looking things this way, I am not too far away from my goal. I am currently, let say roughly at 55 000$. I am currently only missing 97 000$. If I am lucky enough to work at both job, I could probably invest close to 30 000$ per year in my investment portfolio. Which mean that in about 3 years, I could have 150 000$ and even more I hope, in assets. I am willing to give this plan a try.

At this time, I would like to reach the 60 000$ in assets by the end of the year. This could work if the TSX remain stable until that time and that I get hired at the job I am going for an interview tomorrow… It’s quite stressful, job interview always stress me. It’s about getting my social insurance number and stuff, giving my papers for diploma, present 2 pieces of ID. I guess it’s just for a background check… And everything should be fine since I am a very rich-lucky-girl. :))))

Dividend week for Just Energy Income Fund

I just received 21.08$ on today for the dividend of September for Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN). I earn one extra unit. I am now at 405 units of Just Energy Income Fund.

My investment portfolio of stocks and units is currently at 26 628$, up of 109$. My Sprott Canadian Equity Fund if also up t more than 31$ per unit, for the second day of the row. I guess I might be around 53 500$ right now or somewhere close. Anyway, I won’t recalculate the whole thing again, it’s require way too much of work lol. I am just glad everything is going well. At this point, I need more cash to extend my investment portfolio and I need the TSX to gain more points. The combination of both (salary and TSX gain) could make my gin thousands of dollars more. I could easily reach the 65 000$ without too much work. 50 000$ is a fun goal, but wouldn’t be fun if I could reach the 100 000$? It’s not an impossible goal.

As for now, I am happy with the gain made so far. My Great-West Life portfolio is now up to 1 678.07$. 100$ over here, 100$ over there… at the end, all those little gain can easily make 1 000$ in gain. At this point, My first 50 000$ is taking form and all this worth actually something. My motivation is not to come and say: hey, look at how much I worth! I like my blog because it’s offer me the possibility to explain that it’s possible to accumulate mass of money, even at a middle class salary. And it’s also possible to make money from money (that will be the dividend). Not that I like Derek Foster that much that I want to do just like him lol, but what I like, is the possibility, the possibility to make a living from my investment. And what come next for me as a step is now: will I continue, does it worth it to invest all my savings on the stock market? Sometimes, I told myself wow, 50 000$ is a lot of money, what am I doing here, investing in stocks and units? But that impression never last for long. I always told myself that if I would loose too much, I will stop. Currently, from my stocks and units portfolio, I had lost a bit more than 8 000$. So far, in my broker account, I had invested just a bit more than 40 000$. From that money, I lost 8 000$. I lost the money in Timminco, Sprott (SII) and in Sprott Canadian Equity mutual fund. Also with Blue Note Mining. Even while facing money lost, am still not at the point where I am not going to invest anymore. I believe I will be able to recover from those loses pretty easily. I still believe in my chance and its look to me like the stock market was made just for me, so I can win big at this game.

For my next investment, I want BRC.UN, Enbridge, BA.UN among other. I don’t think I can lose with those picks. As long as I remain with dividend payer stocks and units and forget about penny stocks, I won’t loose money. As long my portfolio keep growing in all kind of crazy directions, I won’t loose, I will gain. And reaching that 50 000$ in investment had made myself felt that I cannot remove myself from the market because I have too much too earn and gain from it. That’s exactly how I feel at this point.

My job interview of today went fine

I went to my job interview today. I was asked different questions regarding job in a call center. They were mostly general questions, situation questions kind of like. The interview went ok and I was told I will receive a call by the end of the week for a second interview. And to my surprise, I received a call when I was at my evening job. I call right back away. There was a spot available tomorrow, but it was too close to my evening shift, so instead, I took the interview for Monday morning.

It gives me a bit of time ahead just to prepare myself a bit more for an interview. Not that I wasn’t prepare for today interview. But with the fatigue, stress, etc., the interview of today wasn’t spectacular. My problem is I am feeling very tired at this time, even if I sleep well. Maybe it’s the weather change that is affective me. Until Monday, I have a lot to do as I want to do some overtime and catch up with different things I need to get done. If, by any chance, I got the job, I will be one of the happiest girls of the world. Working at 2 jobs during weekdays will be tough, but if I do not work 2 days straight, I think I will be able to handle it. The training will be during daytime, and during the evening, I will be working at my current job… And money will finally arrive. It’s been quite a long time now that I had been living on one salary only and I miss the money.

I cannot wait to have my bank account and other stuff with the bank I will be working for. I am just hoping for a discount for a broker account too. Just very curious about the free bank stuff employees can get. I never heard of it before. Maybe not free, but at a discount price. That part is pretty intriguing. Going for bed for now, exhausted by my day and I didn’t do that much at all.

Free Saturday and District 9

Today was a funny day. I wake up late. After, I clean my place. I might had pass around 3 hours cleaning my one and a half apartment. I just now have some laundry left to do. I am glad I am done with the cleaning. I hate to clean my place, but I « try » o do it at least one every 2 weeks. The benefit of living in a tiny 1 ½ is that it’s doesn’t require that much cleaning and that’s perfect for me lol. A 2 and half might be better for me. A one and half apartment is quite small and I am missing some storage room. I hope to one day move and get a 2 and half apartment somewhere on Montreal Island, close to a metro. So, after the cleaning, I go out for lunch and went downtown. Later on I went to the theatre and saw that strange movie, call District 9. Certainly didn’t worth the 12$ I pay for, but it was kind of ok. It’s a lost colder outside now. It’s just sad that summer went so quickly.

Tomorrow Sunday I have overtime available, I will try to go to work in the morning. And after, I will try to prepare myself for the interview. Always so much to do. I would like to have the job even if the pay is low. Advantage (including health insurance) are available on the first day we start working. So for sure, I will take my time to go to the dentist. At my current job, we have social bonus, but I never sign up for them… Its just one of those things I never took the time to do. For now, what I really wish for is that the interview went well and that I will be able to work at those 2 jobs at the same time. I was told already that the training is during the daytime. Wouldn’t be nice if I could the training there during daytime and work my regular night shift just like usual? That could mean a lot of cash in order to purchase BRC.UN and maybe even Enbridge… Finally! I just cannot wait to add something new to my investment portfolio.

And I cannot wait for Tuesday to come.

Saturday, October 10, 2009

I am now at 52 833.37$

We are already Friday! I didn’t perform anything good today, but at least, I present myself to work lol. I wanted to wake up early to do everything I had planned to do, but I didn’t do that much. I want to pay my RBC credit card. In date of today, I no longer have credit card debt. At least major one. I expect to pay everything by the end of October.

I was planning to do some overtime tomorrow Saturday, but seem like there’s none, and its better that way. I have way too much to do, a day off won’t even be enough. And since I am not working tomorrow, I calculate my overall earnings. With the latest changes that happen in my investment portfolio lately, I couldn’t wait to see how much my portfolio worth. I am currently at 52 833.37$, which is not bad at all. Almost at the 55 000$, even without Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN) and Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) in my portfolio.

Going to bed for now.

My job searching progress

I begin my job search and I got a first interview next week for a job. Problem being: I might not be able to work someplace else while working for them (a major Canadian bank). I couldn’t lie, the job require experience in a call center as a customer representative and the only place I got that kind of experience is at my current job. Normally, when I apply at a job, I am pretty smart, I don’t expose my newest experience and until now, it work pretty well, and it allow me to work at several jobs at the same time.

But the job of today required experience as customer representative and I was asked if I was still working there, and I answer yes… I couldn’t lie, especially on that. Over the phone, the interviewer told me that I probably wouldn’t be able to work someplace else while working for them. But hey, at the salary that they are paying (less than 30 000$), how can they imagine I will stick with only one job? Anyway, I didn’t discuss much over the phone as I didn’t want to ruin all of my chances right from the start. As for the salary, it’s the salary I was told over the phone, which I said was ok. They have evening shift available, which are perfect for me, it will allow me to work daytime at the job I am right now. I could probably work something out and I could possibly earn more than 40 000$ this way. Wouldn’t be cool? Will God let me do this for my own faith? Anyway, I don’t know what God want from me, but what I want is some cash. And I want it right now!

But remember, this is my first interview, which I am pretty happy about. And I am thinking about taking the offer. I am not looking specially to work with a bank. It’s just happen that way. Actually, I should explain to them that I don’t want to be a simple CSR (customer rep), but I actually want to become one of their mutual funds manager lol. No one is better than me, right?

I should probably explain that to them at the time I present myself to the interview next week. Sure I am going to get the job right away this way. Crazy.

About my stocks and units investment portfolio

It’s getting better and better and I am proud of my move (selling PGF.UN), even if PGF.UN increase in value today. After loosing so much money with Sprott Inc. (SII) and Timminco (TIM), I didn’t want the same story to happen again. So I sell PGF.UN. And truly, I don’t regret it because this awesome move had saved our dividend annual income. Awesome! I am actually really proud of that. And I would be even prouder if I could find any cash to invest in BRC.UN.

And what’s next?

Job searching! Cleaning, cooking and laundry. And a visit to my PO Box. Overtime… I want today at the RBC of Ville-Marie downtown Montreal, but something happen during the afternoon at Ville-Marie and the RBC Bank was close. I cannot wait to pay of my RBC Credit card. I have 469.10$ to pay off. By the end of October, I will be credit card debt free.

Job searching for the money

I work on my French resume and I probably begin my job search right today. I wake up early today! It’s currently 8:38AM… I might be very motivated by something…. Might be the money lol. I need cash to bring some 100 units of BRC.UN in my portfolio. I want those!

Yesterday, JE.UN close at 13.98$ when I had purchased 200 units at 13.84$. I made a little profit right here in just in a day. I am happy that all those transactions are now over. Feeling better now, but it make me laugh because since I sell, PGF.UN price continue to rise… until 10.71$. I could had made an extra 475$ in profit if I would had sell at that price but anyway, I will say that life not just all about money. I guess some other investors might had done the same thing as myself.

I cannot wait for tonight to come, as I am expecting a big paycheck of at least 1 100$. After what, tomorrow I will be able to pay off my RBC credit card, a major part of my CIBC Visa and maybe just the minimum payment for my TD Visa. I will pay as much as I can, but I need to keep 200$ in my pocket for my next month as I don’t know if there’s overtime available.

I saw colleagues of mine who really have enough of that job as their vacations had been refused. I never asked for vacation and I am close to the 2 000$ in vacations pay. I would like to cash in the money – or leave the vacations money there until I leave and cash it out… But at a point, I feel I might need, someday, those vacations lol.

Anyway for now, what I have enough is that there is no ventilation and its smell and its too hot. But most of the time, its relatively ok. For now, I am job searching. I would like to find something in my field and if not well, I will continue the way I am.

I just purchase 200 units of JE.UN at 13.89$

For this purchase, I had to modify my order from for the limit of 13.89$. I just purchase 200 new units of Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN).

My investment portfolio currently worth 26 441.55$.

So I finally made it. I save my annual dividend income and its really great.

As for the rest, I am tired. Yesterday at work, they hd begin to change the whole call center carpet while we were still in there. It was smelling glue! What an horror. Just what we need to get intoxicated. And here am I this morning, feeling not so bad, but I just want my bed.

I also sell LIV.UN earlier today

And everything went well. I sell my 102 units of Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN) at 6.55$ per unit. I didn’t get any extra fees for selling 102 and not 100 units, which I am pretty happy.

More about PGF.UN

As you can imagine, while at work, I quickly check for the value of PGF.UN. And… to my surprise, it’s up to 10.71$! Of course, if I would had known, I would had wait to sell my units of PGF.UN. But still, I was able to make a profit from my sell and personally, I wasn’t too happy about fact that PGF.UN are cutting again their distribution, second time since a couple of months. For nothing in the world I regret my sell of PGF.UN. No one can predict how the market will be. In this case, I was very surprises to see PGF.UN increase today as a dividend cut of 30% had been announced by the company this last Friday.

On Friday, I was very upset, because everything was working so fine. It’s seem like I can never take a complete rest. I was receiving an average of 65$ per month. PGF.UN was my main dividend contributor. I really like PGF.UN. But with our dividend goal of our, I prefer to sell. I do not regret the sell because at the time, on the moment, it seems to be the best thing to do. Probably PGF.UN will gain in value again in the future, but enough is enough, I have enough of distribution cut. And Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN) is no longer from my portfolio, same thing for PGF.UN and I am pretty happy about it.

Nothing happen for nothing…

I had prepared myself a check for CIBC Visa of the amount of 350$, a couple of days ago. But I never went at the CIBC to make the deposit because in the last couple of days, I wake up late all the time. And thank God I did! If it wouldn’t be of that extra 350$ available, I wouldn’t be able to place my next order for Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN). Now, I just have enough to cover 200 units of Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN). And I will have a little left over to cover the minimum payment on my credit line.

I just placed a purchase order of 200 units of Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN) at the highest price of 13.85$. I hope my order will go smoothly and that I will find my purchase order completed when I wake up.

So it’s seemed like everything turn for the best for now. Let’s take it one thing at the time. I felt a lot better today, once I wake up before leaving for work. At a point, it was a lot of stress for me as it was my first real sell experience and it went well.

Again, some dividend calculations

Again:

Our current dividend gains so far: 1 466.96$ +

From our new PIF.UN units (300 units): 39$ x 3 months left:
November-December 2009 = 117$
From our new JE.UN units (200 units of tomorrow): 20.66$ x 3 months left:
November-December 2009 = 61.98$

Our current 1 466.96$ + 117$ + 61.98$ = 1 645.94$ by the end of December 2009. Not bad at all. For 2010, we should received around 2 182.96$ in annual dividend earnings. And since we are enroll to a DRIP to all of our investment, we can easily add a 100$ on top of that. Which will make 2 282.96$, for an average of 190$/per month. Really not bad!

I am just hoping that in the meantime, JE.UN and PIF.UN and all the others I have in my investment portfolio will continue to pay dividend.

Some left over…

This is very hilarious and funny situation. Today, we sell all of our 650 units of PGF.UN. Nothing new here. But we are still eligible to receive PGF.UN dividend for this month. Since we were unroll on a DRIP, we will received new units of PGF.UN, probably 5 or 6 new units that will be add to our portfolio while no PGF.UN units are currently in there. See, because we sell after the record date, we are eligible to received PGF.UN dividend for the month of October. Since we didn’t cancel the DRIP before the record date well, we will receive some units – in units form – in our awesome portfolio. I had the confirmation coming from TD. This is not bothering me at all, just I would have preferred to receive the money in cash but I am not the one who fixes the rules… This is going to look crazy in our portfolio. But this is a sign – our relation with PGF.UN is not over yet. Guess I will invest more in PGF.UN in the future. Just that we have dividend goal, see. Going to bed now, if I wake up early enough to do my stuff, might be able to go to the movies.

My new investment: 300 units of PIF.UN

I just purchase 300 units of PIF.UN at 15.21$. Not so bad. Now, I am completely exhuasted and work at 4. For other sell or purchase, I am going to wait tomorrow.

Stress around PGF.UN

Initial investment of PGF.UN: 6 284.57$. I just wake up (at 10:00AM...) you can imagine I wake up all in stress. Like this weekend had been the worst of my live. I was very stress about seeing Pengrowth cutting their dividend distribution. I am very proud of this sell. And watch this out: I was able to sale an make 6 536$ after commission. And even in recession times, I was able to make a nice profit of 251.43$, which cover the cost of my next 2 investments.

TD Waterhouse tools work great, I was able to sell Pengrowth this morning and I didn't want to go lower than 9.70$ - and I sell even at a higher price.

For next time, when come time to sell, I won't stress that much now that I know that well, the whole system seem to be working. Now let's sell LIV.UN.... or see what we are going to do next... Happy times. My first sell of units and it was today, October 5th, 2009. Coincidence? Remember what happen on August 5th? I reach my first 50 000$ in investment.

Going crazy over selling my stocks

I just confirm, my PGF.UN selling should go through. The lowest I put my sell is at 9.70$. If my any chance, PGF.UN goes at 10$ tomorrow morning, the order will go through at 10$ - and lowest at 9.70$... I just cancel my sell order for LIV.UN because I think the price can go higher than wha it is right now. My sell order for DNI still on.

I am exhausted, going to bed now, will try to wake up for 9am so I can connect to my account right in time for 9:30am... I hope my selling of PGF.UN will go through. I cannot wait to see the opening price of PGF.UN tomorrow.

If what if I don’t sell LIV.UN?

Confusion! Should I do this or sell this… or not? Lol…… What I know for sure, is that I want to sell my 650 units of PGF.UN. I had place a sell order at 9.70$ for my 650 units. This is the lowest where I will go. Now, if by magic tomorrow, Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) open at 10.28$, will the selling order will be completed at 10.28$? I believe the answer is yes, but I want to clarify one last time.

More about my sell order: Dumont Nickel (DNI)

I had renewed my sell order for Dumont Nickel (DNI). I want to sell the 23 000 stocks at 4 cents, but the sell didn’t happen yet, so I just renew the order for until the end of October.

Sell or not: the Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN) case

I am truly lost right now. I wonder: should I keep Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN) in my portfolio for now? I had placed a sell order of my 102 units at 6.60$. But seem to be the price can go higher than that, so I might cancel my order by the end of the day. While completed the order, I got this message: The number of shares you have entered includes an add lot and may be subject to price premium. Ok, and, what’s a price premium? I won’t sell if TD Waterhouse going to charge me 50$ for the sell… And no information is provided. So guess what, I will have to call TD Waterhouse again! I am just curious about this, so I might ask the question, because the approximate commission fee is 29$ anyway, that’s what appears on my sell order of Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN). This is all very confusion.

I am just sooo tired of this! Never mind Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN) but Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) had to go from my investment portfolio! I just cannot wait for tomorrow morning!

Selling stocks for dummies

I have no idea how selling stocks work. This is because I never sell any of my investment before. So call TD Waterhouse – I hope it was my last call ever at TD Waterhouse. I cannot wait to trade with iTRADE. I should had organize myself sooner, but I had no clue that PGF.UN was about to cut their distribution. So now, I am stock with TD Waterhouse to do what I never taught I would had do: sell my very precious PGF.UN units. It’s not something easy for me, but I can no longer keep PGF.UN in my portfolio.

What I learn from TD Waterhouse about selling stocks

Question: What’s the price to sell my 650 units of PGF.UN?
Answer: 29$
(Same commission fee for selling LIV.UN).

Question: On Friday, PGF.UN closes at 10.28$. At the opening of the TSX on Monday morning, will PGF.UN will be at 10.28$.
Answer: The price could change.
(I kind of know this answer, but I ask, just to make sure… PGF.UN could be at 10.28$ on Monday morning, but it could open at a lower price).

Question: I have 650 units of PGF.UN. When I place my selling order, will I be able to sell all of my 650 units?
Answer: It could happen the order only go through for 600 units.
(I ask this question because I notice that at TD Waterhouse, orders are being places by trench of 100 units. This part is particularly frightening. I want to sell all of my PGF.UN units).

Question: And for LIV.UN, I own 102 units I want to sell. Will I be bale to sell them all?
Answer: It could happen the order go though for only 100 units.
(It would be hilarious, being stock with 2 units of LIV.UN… Crazy)

Question: Once the order for my sellings being completed, will the money be available for me to purchase new investment?
Answer: Yes, the money will be available immediately to purchase new units or stocks. For a withdraw, the money won’t be available immediately, but for another investment, the money will be available.
(Nice nice nice).

Question: If my place a sell order at 10.27$ for PGF.UN and on Monday, the price at the opening is at 10.28$, will my sell order go through anyway?
Answer: Yes, the order will go thought.
(But the opposite won’t work. If I place a selling order at 10.28$, while the price is of 10.27$, the order won’t be completed). Always good to know…

And… finally

Question: Can I place my sell order today? Would the order be taking in consideration for Monday morning?
Answer: Yes.
(Let’s place our sell order than).

I more and more understand Derek Foster for selling his portfolio. Now, I understand lol.

Saturday overtime: 110 hours in 2 weeks. Can someone else beat me?

It’s funny because I just read over my post of yesterday and gees; I wanted to do hours like crazy. I couldn’t wake up this morning, so I did from 2 to 8 pm, a little 6 hours shift. I was very tired this morning and when I arrived at work, I first taught that I wouldn’t be able to work at all. But it went smoothly, no difficult or angry customers, so the 6 hours shift went fine. I am now pretty sure my next paycheck will be of 1 100$. I really need it.

More about my annual dividend income

Let’s calculate again my dividend (I like that stuff!).

Ok, so, so far, I had accumulated 1 141.30$ in dividend income. Which is not bad at all for a first start. If I remove Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) from my portfolio, without adding any new investment, this is how it will look like for me, dividendly speaking:

Total so far acculated in dividend income: 1 141.30$
+ upcoming dividend:
September 30: Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN): 21.07$ (10.33 cents per unit)
October 10: Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN): 65$ (10 cents per unit)
October 10: Yellow Pages Income Fund (YLO.UN): 26.95$ (6.67 cents per unit)
October 25: Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN): 13.13$ (13 cents per unit)
October 28: Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS): 50.47$ (49 cents per stock)
November 16: Yellow Pages Income Fund (YLO.UN): 26.93$ (more or less)
November 25: Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN): 13.13$ (more or less)
November 30: Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN): 21.07$ (more or less)
December 1: Fortis (FTS): 26.78$ (more or less)
December 15: Yellow Pages Income Fund (YLO.UN): 26.93$ (more or less)
December 31: Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN): 13.13$ (more or less)
December 31: Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN): 21.07$ (more or less)
TOTAL: 1 466.96$

What am I supposed to do with a tinny little 1 466.96$!!!

But hey, don’t worry! Remember what we are going to do? Selling those 650 units of Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) at, I hope, 10.28$ (at least let’s try). And sell our 102 units of Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN) at 6.65$. For LIV.UN, it won’t be a problem. The scary part is for PGF.UN. What if everyone sell their Pengrowth Energy Trust at the same time…. The price will drop, and it will make it impossible to sell Pengrowth Energy Trust and make a profit from it. I don’t want to loose any money, so if I cannot sell at a price where I can make a profit, I won’t sell. If it happens, I will be sad, but PGF.UN is a great company. One day, their dividend will come back. Sometimes, life is difficult like that.

Ok, let’s say super enthusiastic and say, yes, I will sell at 10.28$... In that case, here is what will happen:

I will purchase 300 units of Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN).
= 468$ in dividend annual income
And 200 units of Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN).
= 248$ in dividend annual income

1 466.96$ + 468$ + 248$ = 2 182.96$

A fantastic 2 182.96$ is waiting for me! This way, I will only be missing 217.04$ to reach my 200$ dividend income/month (2 400$ in annual dividend income).

Will this ever happen? We’ll see on Monday. I hope everything will turn out for the best.

While being at work, I taught ok, well, this makes a lot of units vs stocks in my portfolio. And knowing what will happen later on regarding units (those are investments ending by .UN)… Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN) had already expressed their desire to turn into a corporation and provide a quarterly dividend. I don’t worry at all for my investment made in the Just Energy Income Fund. For Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN), I don’t worry either, since they had expressed their desire to keep the annual dividend of 1.56$ per unit for a little while…

The important with this whole investment “game” is to try to make things work for the best. Failure is an expensive way to learn.

Upcoming changes in my investment portfolio

I had been so busy with my overtime lately; it’s been a crazy week! And it’s not over yet!

Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) had announced a distribution cut. Starting from November, the distribution of Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) will vary from 3 to 7 cents. But its look for me that it will mostly 3 cents.

I am selling Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN)

My initial investment was of 6 284.57$. I had 650 units of Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) that currently at the price of 10.25$ per unit. My investment currently is at 6 663$. I am not interesting in having Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) in my portfolio anymore since they had to cut their dividend. I understand the company decision. I truly adore Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN), but unfortunately, I have a dividend goal and I want to make money from my investment. And I also need that money. I want that dividend money very badly. So now, here’s what going to happen on Monday morning, 9:30AM Eastern time. Directly from the Plateau-Mont-Royal, using my laptop, I will sell my 650 units of Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) at the price of, I hope, 10.25$. Same thing for Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN).

I am also selling Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN)

I currently own 102 units of Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN). My initial investment value was of 635.97$. Currently, the investment worth 668$. And Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN) does not pay dividend anymore. So guess what will happen on Monday? I will sell my 102 units of Livingston International Income Fund (LIV.UN) at 6.55$

After the selling commission of 29$ per trade, I will have made a profit of 7 302.30$

And what I plan to do with the money? Invest in stuff I already know and in companies that I trust:

-300 new units of Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN) (15.20$ per unit)
Cost of the investment: 4 560$ + 29$ TD Waterhouse commission = 4 589$
What I will earn in dividend: 1.56$ x 300 units = 468$
Why I want to invest more in Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN)?

I am investing in Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN) because it’s a strong company. Ever since I had purchased my first 100 units of Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN) at 12, ever since that time, the value had increased. Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN) currently worth 15.20$ per unit. I can easily imagine the price reaching 18$ in the upcoming weeks (or months lol). Anyhow, I like Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN). Nice dividend and we truly need it. Since I already own 101 units of Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN). Those 300 new units will help be to increase the units I earn through the DRIP. I probably be able to earn 3 new units per month is the price of Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN) remains under 16$ for a little while.

-200 new units of Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN) (13.60$)
Cost of the investment: 2720$ + 29$ TD Waterhouse commission = 2 749$
What I will earn in dividend: 1.2396$ x 200 units = 247.92$
Why I want to invest more in Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN)?

So far, I had been pleased with Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN). They recently acquire a new company (several weeks ago), which bring new grow to the company. With the DRIP, I will be able to gain 2 new units per month, approximately. Plus: Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN) had paid special dividend in the past, and they might pay special dividend again in the future.

After what, here’s what my annual dividend earnings will look like:

Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS): 201.88$
Fortis (FTS): 107.12$
Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN): 500.80$
Methanex Corporation (MX): 70.56$
Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN): 625.56$
Sprott Inc. (SII): 50.30$
Yellow Pages Income Fund (YLO.UN): 323.20$
TOTAL: 1 879.41$

Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) was my main dividend earning provider, with 780$ in dividend annual income… Very sad to see Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) reducing dramatically its dividend. I might be tempted by PGF.UN in the future.

If I leave Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) in my portfolio, look what will happen:

Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN): 234$
Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS): 201.88$
Fortis: (FTS): 107.12$
Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN): 286.62$
Methanex Corporation (MX): 70.56$
Pembina Pipeline Income Fund (PIF.UN): 157.56$
Sprott (SII): 50.30$
Yellow Pages Income Fund (YLO.UN): 323.20$
Total: 1 431.24$ (-448.17$)

On an annual basis, it’s a difference of 448.17$. And also, on Monday, because Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) had announced on today Friday a cut in its dividend, the value of Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF.UN) will certainly decrease. Which is not good at all for My First 50 000$...

Investment is not an easy road and individuals shouldn’t be scare about taking actions in order to get things better. Distribution cut is the worst thing that can ever happen and I face it several times this year. As soon as I will be done with my overtime tomorrow, I will take it off on Sunday; try to take a rest to after hit the road of job hunting for a daytime job. I really want to earn more money. I just want 100 units of Brookfield Renewable Power Fund (BRC.UN).

Another day end and tomorrow is another day

Yesterday, I begin my day at 10 this morning and end it at midnight. I am lucking for 1 100$-1 200$ in paycheck. I am not going overtime tomorrow. I am looking for to a 10 or 11 or 8 hours shift. It does all depend if I can wake up early or not.

I gave a call at my weekend job. I was way too curious to find out if there was worked available for me. At this time, there’s none, but projects should start in the upcoming weeks. Anyway, if I will call again on November if I don’t get any use from them. I am use to that job, sometimes there’s work, sometimes not. But when work become available, I am usually good for a couple of months straight in a row.

The overtime I have available at my evening job is really saving me. But as you can imagine, there’s no overtime for nothing. We are currently all overworking right now at the call center I work. For now, I am happy on how things are going on. I didn’t begin my search for a daytime job yet, since I had been so busy with the overtime. I prefer to do overtime now rather than job searching, because big money will become available not in 2 weeks or one month from now (depending on how hard it will be for me to find something) – but directly at my next paycheck.

I am quite of disappointed with my lost for today regarding my investment portfolio. But I guess the TSX will keep playing the yo-yo and with my heart lol until more sustainable jobs being created in Canada and the US. It’s a difficult time, but a good time to invest in stocks I believe. And talking stocks, I plan to do majors change in my portfolio.

Methanex Corporation (MX) cool dividend

I had received 16.90$ from Methanex (MX) today. I didn’t earn an extra stock, because Methanex Corporation (MX) value is currently at more than 18$. For a little while, Methanex was at 20$, the price went down to something to 18$ on today, don’t ask me why.

Same stupid thing than last month is happening again with Just Energy Income Fund (JE.UN). I had received 10 cents in my account balance in cash, but no unit yet. I really hate that. Couldn’t they just applied the money and the units at the same time? Of course not, it would have been just too bright from them (Just Energy Income Fund or my broker that I really like – TD Waterhouse lol….). Anyway, I know how things are going now since it’s now the second time it’s happening to me. I have to wait 2 weeks or so for the units to be applied in my super-super investment portfolio. Way to go!

I don’t really have bad stuff to say about TD Waterhouse. Just that sometimes, there rep are rude (but each time its happening I write it right here on my very own blog). I find them expensive, at 29$ per transactions. Otherwise, the service is pretty reliable. Or should I say very reliable. So far, I didn’t hit any problem with TD Waterhouse, I always received my dividend payments and no fraudulent transactions had been made in my broker account. No stocks or units had disappeared so far from my TD Waterhouse broker account :) And what I like: there’s no fee to purchase mutual funds, service had been reliable. What I dislike: there’s a fee for RRSP account.

Yesterday, the value of my investment portfolio (stocks and units) was of 27 020$. And today, the value is at 27 164$. Nice gain. Hopefully, I will be able to reach 55 000$ without too much trouble.

Tomorrow, I am doing 6 hours of overtime. I had the authorization since I ask. I am very happy. This mean I will have at least 1 000$ on my next paycheck and I will be able to pay all of my credit card debts. Clear the mess up. I really taught today was today and I was happy to learn I was going to have one more day in my week… Very weird, but I went all messy because I worked all weekend long. I wonder if there will be work at my weekend job. As you can see, it’s all for now about work work work.
