Welcome in my RRSP portfolio Suncor Energy Inc. (SU)!

Yesterday, since I had a little amount available to invest inside my RRSP portfolio, I decided to invest in Suncor Energy Inc. (SU). Do I really need to tell you that I was motivated by the fact that Suncor Energy Inc. (SU) made a good decision: they double the amount of their dividend distribution!

I was expecting Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.B) to lose much more on value. I have to admit I was hoping to buy some Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.B) shares at something like $50 per share, but it didn't happen. I was able to buy some RCI.B shares at a good price on October 25, but after that, Rogers didn't go down drastically.

Since yesterday, my really small investment made in Suncor Energy Inc. (SU) gains +5.37%, which is really good. Vanguard Russell 1000 Growth Index Fund (VONG), which I hold inside my US portfolio, is another investment that I made not too long ago and on which I had made already great gains: +7.46%. Just like for Suncor Energy Inc. (SU), Vanguard Russell 1000 Growth Index Fund (VONG) was another really small investment of mine. This is just an advantage that provides a very enjoyable zero commission fee with National Bank Direct Brokerage. Instead of having to wait and have a good amount available to invest, I can simply invest in a share-by-share mode if I want to.

I can invest a really small amount of money at any time. I no longer need to worry about the commission fees. Since my commission fees with National Bank Direct Brokerage are of a big $0, I can invest in whatever I want when I want it, and the best thing of all, it doesn't matter how little the investment made is, because I don't pay any commission fee. This is exactly what I wanted to get so badly when I switched broker from TD Direct to the National Bank Direct Brokerage. It's complete freedom, a liberty that in the long run could be worth gold. This is really important for me because this is exactly how I built my portfolio over time, by investing small amounts of money over time, and 15 years later, tadamm... I have a +$330,000 net worth.

At first, after 15 years, a 300k net worth doesn't seem that much. I agree. However, now more than ever, my portfolio grow more easily. It was only in May of this year that I reached my first $300,000 net worth and only 6 months later, that $300,000 jumped to $336,000. The TSX is at a really good place right now and it's important to take advantage. The only way to take full advantage is to invest in quality stock. With the TSX, we never know what can eventually happen, but I like to think that my first $400k net worth is no more out of reach.

I am currently working on a really complete and detailed post on which I recap my experience switching brokers from TD Direct to National Bank Direct Brokerage, I have a lot to say. But if you want to know now, overall, everything went really well. If you are smart and want to take advantage of National Bank Direct Brokerage's $0 commission fee, my best advice will be: GO FOR IT. Switching broker for National Bank Direct Brokerage was as easy as switching my New Brunswick health card to a Quebec one (I have done that too, but a long time ago :-). Really that easy breathy.

Today, my non-registered portfolio closed today session at $136 991,25, my US portfolio at $4 350,28, my RRSP portfolio at $61 728,36 and my TFSA portfolio at $129 683,74. I don't know if you had noticed, but I forgot to put PFB Corporation (PFB) inside my TFSA portfolio. I had just updated my portfolio page. However, I didn't forget about PFB Corporation (PFB). I invested in PFB Corporation (PFB) back in August of this year. Fact is, I wanted to add PFB to my portfolio for the longest time! But as soon as I added PFB Corporation (PFB) to my TFSA portfolio, immediately after, PFB began to lose in value... It wasn't fun to watch. However, lately, PFB Corporation (PFB) had caught up. I began to see PFB on its brighter side and it began to be a good value stock. Currently, PFB Corporation (PFB) is on a +3,27% gain.

Welcome in my TFSA and RRSP portfolio Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.B)!

It's only earlier this morning that I decided to invest in Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.B). It wasn't exactly planned. During The Open at BNN, Jon Erlichman explains that Rogers’s stock was losing value, and it’s when I decided: OK let's invest in Rogers! I had some money available inside my RRSP and TFSA portfolio, so I invested those small amounts in RCI.B. If Rogers stock goes lower tomorrow, I may invest again in it, maybe something like $1,000 or something. I am under the impression that Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.B) is doing to lose another 5% tomorrow morning, but that’s just my opinion.

The ugly saga regarding Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.B) and Edward Rogers so wanted-to-be CEO is still ongoing. It's certainly not fun to watch. Imagine Loretta Rogers, who's in her 80s, having to deal with her narcissistic son... One of Edward’s sisters, Martha Rogers, is not keeping quiet on this betrayal. However, I don't know if she's doing the right thing by writing on Twitter:

Personally, I wouldn’t react on Twitter or Facebook. I am not a fan of social media. It’s just not the place to react to things like that.

At this point, I don’t know what Edward Rogers plans are, but he’s not really popular and his ambitious plans are most likely to fail. As a result of all this mess, RCI.B stocks registered losses of close to 6% today. This saga is damaging Rogers’s image, but the good services that Rogers provides to its consumers won’t disappear overnight because of this mess. It’s always difficult to invest in a stock that is experiencing a downturn.

In this case, I am confident with my move because this downturn that is currently experiencing Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.B) is not a matter of quality, but only a matter of family problems. Personally, I will go much harder on Edward Rogers. If I were a Rogers’ family member, I would go to the police and put him under arrest. If nothing of this nature is being done, this would mean that the Rogers family has lost all control. Or maybe they are on Edward Rogers’s side after all but are not willing to admit it publicly. See, this is leading to all sorts of bizarre contortions. Currently, the Rogers family members are not in control of the situation and it’s quite frightening.

My non-registered portfolio closed today session at $138 912,18, my RRSP stocks only portfolio at $62 256,60 and my TSFA portfolio closed in its highest value ever, on a fabulous $131 426,11. I estimate my net worth to be in the $338,000. The $340k net worth is not far away. I was watching The Open at BNN this morning. Jon Erlichman was talking and at a point, a graphic show that so far this year, the TSX gains +30%! And that’s why my net worth is in the $338,000 right now.

This is, of course, awesome, but in this environment, it's difficult to find good-quality stocks at a fair price. There's always good stuff you can find, but it can be hard to find. Susan Brunner regularly writes her "Something to buy" series on her blog. For me, this drop in Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.B) value represented a good opportunity. It’s difficult to find a good quality stock at a fair price, but it’s also difficult to find a good quality stock that pays at least a 3% yield... Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.B) has it all.

Now, all the family drama has to come to an end, and quickly, please.

Does Stantec Inc. (STN) worth the excitement?

The TSX didn't register super great gains this past Friday. However, it closed on a good 21,216.15 points. It seems like the 21,000 points are the new normal - at least these days - for the TSX. My non-registered portfolio closed today session on a good $138 642,98, my TFSA portfolio on a SUPER $131 240,44, and my RRSP stocks only portfolio - at a good $62 214,97. If I am not mistaken, my TFSA portfolio is at its highest value ever. It's interesting to see that now, both of my non-registered and TFSA portfolios are almost at the same value.

I don't like the drama that is currently going on with Rogers Communications. I hold on to some Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.B) shares inside my TFSA portfolio. I like its 3.332% yield. Edward Rogers is desperately trying to remain a person in power within Rogers Communications. I don't like what he's doing. His actions are too bold and illegal. The decisions he's making cannot even be taken into consideration. At a point, this situation is creating confusion for everyone. It must be a miserable time for the Rogers family.

I am obviously not a fan of Edward Rogers's actions. I find this article from Toronto Life. It gives an idea of Edward Rogers' narcissistic personality. He's so self-centered that he wants to replace 5 board members and select himself the newcomers. Back in the day, Ted Rogers didn't want to have his son Edward as CEO. There's no reason why he should be CEO now. End of the discussion. I am just happy that my investment in Rogers Communications Inc. (RCI.B) is not a large one. I don't like drama.

Other than Rogers Communications, Stantec Inc. (STN) had made the news for its acquisition of Cardno Limited. Currently, I do not hold any shares of Stantec Inc. (STN) in my portfolio. Back in the days - a long time ago - I used to have STN in my portfolio. I sold it because I didn't like the stock, it simply wasn't gaining in value. Maybe this acquisition will help STN to move forward. Personally, I don't have any interest in Stantec Inc. (STN). At least not at this time.

I am enjoying my time in New Brunswick. The weather is getting colder.

It's quite easy to save money here because we don't have anything close by. I cannot walk to go to the grocery store, or go to the mall, or go to the movies, go to the library, a coffee shop, or the gym. People around here use their cars to do absolutely everything and you don't get to see many people around walking on sidewalks just for the heck of walking. I am getting quite a weird, isolated feeling sometimes. The days feel much longer here. It's easier for me to get things done. Like blogging, for example.

Right now, I am thinking about investing in my RRSP. I was thinking about a $3,000 extra RRSP contribution for this year but no amount had been fixed for now.

I reached my highest value EVER on October 20: welcoming a SUPER $336,781.52 NET WORTH

Yesterday was quite a good day for my investment portfolio. I was able to close the day with a total of $384,785.92 in assets, and a net worth of $336,781.52. Today, my numbers are a bit lower, which was to be expected at some points. Even a Dividend Girl cannot always be on top of her game. My non-registered portfolio closed today session at $138 290,77, my RRSP portfolio (stocks only) at $61 967,50, and my TFSA portfolio at $130 997.01.

I updated my dividend income. Overall, my dividend income is now at $10,174.44 for a year. If I excluded the dividend earned inside my RRSP, I earned $8,547.16 for a year or $712.26 per month. My main focus remains the quality of the assets that I hold. I welcome dividends as a little extra.

I am doing fine in New Brunswick. The weather is getting colder here.

I find a nice gift for my father on Air Miles :-)

It's looking like the TSX will soon jump in the 21,000 points. My non-registered portfolio closed today session at $137 275,95, my TFSA portfolio at $129,352.84 and my RRSP portfolio - stocks only - at $62,005.37. I still have a bit of cash inside my RRSP and TFSA portfolio. This past October 15 was a great day for my dividend income, which provide a good amount in cash, especially for my TFSA portfolio. I have a few investments ideas, but I haven't decided of anything so far.

I had closed to 3,000 Air Miles, and I taught about getting something special for my father as Christmas gift. I gave my father the choice between this ObusForme Cordless Shiatsu Back Massager with Heat or this Beurer Shiatsu Foot Massager. I always have a really hard time to find something nice for my father. I was happy with my idea. My father decided he wanted the ObusForme Cordless Shiatsu Back Massager with Heat. Both the ObusForme Cordless Shiatsu Back Massager with Heat and the Beurer Shiatsu Foot Massager seem to be well ranked on Amazon. The ObusForme Cordless Shiatsu Back Massager with Heat will arrive within 4 weeks. Air Miles are a good place to shop for free gifts, but items need to be ordered in advance.

Yesterday, I caught a black cat in my mother's flowers. Look at this little sweetie trying to hide from me, behind the red flowers:

Peekaboo!

Today sunset was quite pretty. It rain for the biggest part of the day and than at the end of day, the sun exploded.

The TSX is getting closer to the 21 000 points and its quite fun to watch!

This past Friday had been another great day for the TSX. My non-registered portfolio closed today session at $137,312.77, my TFSA portfolio at $128,729.29 and my RRSP portfolio at $61,945.13. I estimate my net worth to exceed $331,000. In my opinion, the road to the first $350,000 won't be too long.

Currently, the gains made on my Bitcoins and Ethereum unit funds are all together reaching the $400+ value. It's a nice amount, but since I had been waiting for quite a while now to make a great profit by selling my investment in Bitcoin Fund The Class A units (QBTC), Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B), and 3iQ CoinShares Ether ETF (ETHQ). I want to see the color of my money with those investments. It's the reason why I will just ignore for now that I even have any units of QBTC, BTCC.B, and ETHQ in my TFSA portfolio, and get back to it later on. Maybe just in 2022, we'll see. In my opinion, the 3iQ's funds are the best ones to invest in to make a quick and easy profit. Sometimes, a quick wanted profit takes a bit more time to make.

At first, I had a good start buying-and-seeling crypto funds. But at a point, I got stuck in the game and I haven't been able to sell as quickly as before. This is the reason why I still hold to my crypto funds unit in date of today. Now, the situation is a bit different. I am simply holding in the hope to make more profit. Once made, that profit will be made at a $0 commission fee - thanks to my new broker National Bank Direct Brokerage - and also free of tax because I hold all of my crypto funds inside my TFSA portfolio.

Before leaving Montreal for New Brunswick, I spent a bit of money. I bought a new smartphone, which I really needed, new boots, clothes, and a few other purchases which unfortunately add up too quickly. I prefer to buy those things in Montreal because where I am in New Brunswick, we have fewer choices and stores. Extra money would be more than welcome. Just to make me feel worst, I had to leave some things behind because my luggage pieces were already very heavy... It's not an easy task to pack for several months for both autumn and winter, but I did, and here I am, watching the train in my old folks' backyard:

I like to watch the train. It usually travels from right to left, like in this video.

Welcome in my non-registered portfolio, National Bank of Canada (NA)!

I just did a small investment in the National Bank of Canada (NA) for my non-registered portfolio, to activate the credit transfer fee from National Bank Direct Brokerage.

Still no luck hunting so far, but the weather is just too warm right now and it's not helping. However, I got a few nice pictures of my hunting

We saw two mooses, but we stay away:

Yesterday, I updated my investment portfolio. It was my first update since being with National Bank Direct Brokerage. We note a few newcomers: Vanguard Russell 1000 Growth Index Fund (VONG) in my US portfolio, North West Company Inc. (The) (NWC) in my TFSA portfolio, and AirBoss of America Corp. (BOS) in my RRSP portfolio.

I used to have a huge history of my total assets and net worth value in the right column of my blog. I had put that information in a post, that you can now find right here. From now on, I will only put in my right column the latest total assets and net worth value, like this, which is currently from my blog right column, among with the little warning above it:

Yesterday, my net worth closed the session at $330,680.17. I was curious to see my results, now that all of my investments are with National Bank Direct Brokerage. I am not exceeding my highest net worth ever, which was in the 332k, but I am not really far away.
