Closing the year 2022 with a net worth of $337,875.65

I hope that you all had a nice Christmas. It hasn't been an easy one for many, with power failures and many problems with train and plane transportation. Where I am located in New Brunswick, we didn't experiment with any of those. The only problem I had for a couple of days was a quick interruption of the Internet, only a couple seconds from time to time. Last week Friday, many of my co-workers suffer from power failure and were not able to work. I am just glad I didn't have to miss any days at work.

Today was the last trading day for 2022. I invested around a thousand in the JFT Strategies Fund (JFS.UN). I already had that investment inside my RRSP, so I just add to the number of shares I already had. I had updated my debt situation sheet, as well as my investment portfolio. I am closing the year 2022 with a margin debt of $46 726,64 @ 7.75% interest rate, which is super high, and a net worth of $337,875.65. I began the year 2022 with a net worth of $340,128.37 and I closed it while being in the $337,000. It's kind of a status quo that had led this year 2022 to basically nowhere but hey, don't be so quick to judge me.

After all, in 2022, my annual dividend income exceeded $12,000. I think I am in the $12,000 for good.

I am not closing the year 2022 on a super high note, but at least my net worth is within $330,000. I am actually really close to the $340,000. 2022 hasn't been an easy year, but I have to admit, I had everything for myself. I had worked full-time, being paid for many hours of overtime while working from home, in Montreal or somewhere in New Brunswick. For 2022, my work income before tax got super close to $70,000. In 2022, in April, I reached my highest net worth value ever: $361,442.422. 2022 had been a super volatile year and it had been hard to follow. Anyhow, since that I had reached - even for a short period - a net worth of $360,000, I know I can go back there again. It's just a matter of time.

The state of recession might need to be declared before I can get back to my highest value ever. Or not, I really don't know. It's been said that the year 2002 closed with no direction. It's not fun to be in a such stock market environment. It doesn't give me the vibes to buy or do anything, sincerely. But since today was the last trading day of 2022, I wanted to place at least one last investment for 2022. I decided to invest in some shared of JFT Strategies Fund (JFS.UN) for my RRSP portfolio. I still have a few hundred dollars left available in my RRSP portfolio to invest, as well as a few bucks in my TFSA for investment.

2023, here I come.
