Welcoming a few newcomers in my RRSP portfolio!

We are expecting a “feels-like” temperature of -31°C tonight in New Brunswick. I went outside for a few minutes during my lunchtime, but I quickly came back in. It wasn’t -31°C in the afternoon, but it was quite cold. Those long cold days can be quite boring, but since I work full-time remotely, time passes by quite easily.

During weekdays, I have a routine of my own. I finish my workday around 5 p.m. If the weather is not too bad, I use my one-hour lunch break to take a walk outside during daytime, because by the time I am done with work, it is already night outside. I usually read or watch YouTube videos after work, for a good 1 to 2 hours. After that, I get on an elliptical machine and I try to burn at least 400 calories on it, which takes me close to 2 hours, even if I walk at a high speed on it, but without running. Exercising really helps me out because without doing so, I feel quite cold. Once I exercise, I get warmer and I usually feel good for the rest of the evening. After that, I wash up, eat some oatmeal, and sometimes blog. I go to bed when I begin to feel tired, watch some TikTok videos, and I go to sleep around midnight or 1 a.m. I prefer to have long evenings because it makes me enjoy my time; I feel like I am doing more than just working. I usually sleep in during the weekends to catch up on some beauty sleep.

Today, the TSX made great gains. I estimate my net worth to probably be around $522,000. It would be quite cool if I could close the year with a $530,000 net worth. It’s not impossible.

For the past couple of days, many of my stocks have announced great increases in their dividend distribution:
Royal Bank (RY)
National Bank (NA)
Enbridge Inc. (ENB)
Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD)
Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CM)

Thanks to those increases, my non-registered and TFSA portfolios’ dividend income is now at an equivalent of $981 per month! My dividend income fluctuates, but that $981 appears to me as being here to stay. I am not missing much to reach the $1,000 mark! A 1K amount could seem insignificant, but for me, that’s a lot of money. It covers my rent, my cell phone, my cable and Internet bill, my Netflix and Crave subscriptions, and a few espressos…

I had a couple of thousand dollars available in cash inside my RRSP portfolio, resulting from my recent sale of Telus shares. That money was patiently waiting to be reinvested. Today, I partly reinvested that money. It feels to me that I hadn’t invested in quite some time now, so it felt great to invest. Here are the tickers I invested in today for my RRSP portfolio, a mix of different things:

Laurentian Bank of Canada (LB) (I got in at $39.88 following the acquisition announcement)
Thor Explorations Ltd. (THX)
Mineros S.A. (MSA)
Linamar Corporation (LNR)
Urbana Corporation (URB)
Sprott Physical Platinum and Palladium Trust (SPP.U)
Hamilton Gold Producer YIELD MAXIMIZER™ ETF (AMAX)
Royal Canadian Mint – Canadian Gold Reserves Exchange-Traded Receipts (MNT)
United Corporations Limited (UNC)
Kiwetinohk Energy Corp. (KEC)

I don’t disclose the number of shares I buy or hold of each investment for security reasons, but rest assured that I sometimes only bought a single share of the investments named above. I still have cash left over in my RRSP portfolio to invest, and not to forget the extra $2,000 I will contribute by the end of the day to my RRSP portfolio.
