As the TSX closed the trading day at a beautiful 32,000.10 points, I knew I was in for great numbers. It’s quite interesting to note that this 32K milestone came the day after the Winter Solstice. This year, the strong winter weather didn’t waste any time and arrived quite early in New Brunswick.
I don’t think I’m mistaken in saying that today marks the first time ever that the TSX has closed in the 32,000-point range. I updated my investments this past weekend, and again today, because there was just no way I could skip it. My net worth closed the day at $522,246.38. I started 2025 with a net worth of $459,983.13. So far, my investment portfolio has gained an impressive $62,263.23. Earlier this year, back in August, I hit the $500K net worth milestone. Last year, it was $400K.
Wouldn’t it be fun to reach a $600,000 net worth in 2026? It’s not impossible, but generally speaking, having two good years in a row is already quite something. I don’t know if three good years in a row is realistic, but maybe it is.
In 2026, I’d like to quickly set money aside for my time in Montreal and my summer vacation. Once that’s done, I’d like to get back into investing the way I used to, on a more regularly mode. One thing’s for sure: I want to take advantage of the $7,000 contribution room in my TFSA for 2026.
