I just wanted to acknowledge the fact that today, I reached my highest net worth ever: $587,845.10! I was quite shocked while looking at my numbers. I am now missing just a little bit over $12,000 before reaching the $600K mark. I just cannot believe that I am almost there. Also today, I received my Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) dividend, which was reinvested through DRIP to produce more shares. I am now super close to reaching the equivalent of $1,040 per month in dividends from my non-registered and TFSA portfolios.
It’s been a busy day, but as I was watching the TSX, I knew I was in for something good. As soon as I was done with work, I quickly updated my investment portfolio and immediately after, I took a little nap. When I woke up, it was around 7 p.m. I don’t like napping after work because it really breaks my evenings, but I have to admit that sometimes I do feel tired after work — luckily, not most days. I decided to go downtown Montreal for some shopping, even though I knew I was running out of time. I had just enough time to visit a few stores.
While happily walking on St. Catherine Street, I saw one of Quebec’s most popular couples: Véronique Cloutier and Louis Morissette. They were walking, holding hands. It’s the first time I had ever seen them, so it came as a nice surprise. I see celebrities from time to time when I am in Montreal; I have a good eye for spotting them. Recently, I also saw Michel Tremblay, a celebrated Quebec author, and Yanic Truesdale, an actor who is well known for his role as Michel Gerard in Gilmore Girls. More recently, he played alongside the French icon Charlotte Gainsbourg in the TV series L’Étoile. I haven’t watched it yet, but it’s on my list. It can be viewed on Amazon Prime.
This past weekend, I saw Xavier Dolan outside Théâtre Les Quat’Sous. At first, I didn’t see him — I heard his voice. I could recognize that voice anywhere! Unfortunately, I had to head to work when I crossed paths with him, so I wasn’t able to innocently stay around. He was going back inside the theatre, so he was probably attending an event or a play. One of my favorite movies by Dolan is Laurence Anyways. It’s actually on my list of my favorite movies ever.
On that high note, it will be interesting to see what happens on the TSX tomorrow. These days, the stock market is very volatile, so it’s important to celebrate each win while it is happening, because you just never know what a new day will bring. The fact that I am reaching my highest net worth while we are dealing with a war in Iran just shows how twisted the world we live in really is.
