The TSX closed this past Friday's session at a solid 36,176.55 points, which I find quite impressive. I think the tariff situation is something we'll have to deal with for quite some time, along with a lot of volatility. The stock market has always been a day-to-day affair, but these days, things seem much more difficult. More than ever, patience is required. In my opinion, it has never been more difficult to be an investor. There's just no clear outlook on how things are going to turn out. For that reason, I'm always genuinely surprised and happy to see the TSX gaining points.
I closed this past session with a net worth of $617,552.67, which I am quite satisfied with. The last time I reached that level of net worth was this past July. It's a little step backward, of course, but unfortunately, the TSX never moves in a straight line. There are always little steps backward and little steps forward along the way.
Shortly after reaching the $617K mark in July, I went on to hit my highest net worth ever, on July 16, with a very nice $631,085.60. The difference between $617K and $631K is only about $14,000. I'm really not that far behind!
But to reach that $631K mark again, I'll need the TSX to be in good shape. And I'll especially need all my oil stocks to be at the top of their game, particularly Pembina Pipeline Corporation (PPL), which is my largest holding.
This past Friday, PPL closed at $70.82. That's one of the reasons my net worth is currently sitting at $617K. One day, Pembina Pipeline Corporation (PPL) will reach $100 per share, and when that happens, I'll be right there, still holding my shares and feeling proud of my oil baby!
While patiently waiting for that day, my main focus in this economic environment is simply not to lose money. My biggest priority is to keep my net worth above the $600K mark. If I fall below that level, it will be really hard on me. And it could happen, considering that the gap between $617K and $599K, or even lower, isn't that big...
