On the TSX, the star of the moment is Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNQ)!

I watch the TSX every single business day. I rarely miss the opening, which is always the most exciting part of the day. During the day, I also keep a close eye on the TSX whenever I have a chance.

The TSX closed today’s session at 32,541.93, down 298.67 points (-0.91%). If we take the past year into consideration, we are not doing so badly at 32,500 points. And that is something quite important to remember: where we came from and where we are going.

This TSX chart is a clear reminder of the past year and shows just how well things have been for Canadians. It is something truly important to keep in mind while facing the volatility of the past couple of days. We are experiencing a decline because of the war in the Middle East. At the moment, it is difficult to see where things are headed, but they will not last like this forever. In his arrogance, I think Donald Trump totally misjudged what he was getting into when he decided to follow Israel in this war with Iran. Are we giving extremists any meaningful reason to end this war? At this point, with their supreme leader dead, they may feel they have nothing to lose. I do not think Iran’s leadership has the interests of its people at heart. I feel they are willing to sacrifice their whole country if they have to, and that they will not back down easily. But I sincerely hope that I am wrong.

My stock portfolio gained +0.189% today. That is because I am heavily invested in the oil sector, especially in my non-registered portfolio. This strong weighting is clearly working in my favor these days, but that has not always been the case.

My top two biggest holders inside my non-registered are Pembina Pipeline Corporation (PPL) and Enbridge Inc. (ENB). I have to thanks Derek Foster for those two.

Many years ago, both PPL and ENB were .UN investments. I had been holding to those stocks for a very long time and I always been on a DRIP on them. Over the years, I made some valuable cash on those two, while the dividend reinvested by itself. PPL closed the session at $61.28 per share, which is not far behind of it's higher value ever of $61.81, which was achieve earlier this year. ENB is also in super great shape, closed the session on a $74.28. ENB highest value was also reached a bit earlier this past year, a $74.42 value per share.

My superb non-registered portfolio closed today’s session at $183,207.39, my U.S. portfolio at US$5,637.63, my TFSA portfolio at $161,868.01, and my stocks-only RRSP portfolio at $102,036.33. I estimate my net worth to be around $558,000, which represents a decline of more than $9,800 compared with my highest net worth of $567,908.41, reached just a One oil stock that is getting a lot of attention right now is Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNQ), which closed today’s session at $66.51. CNQ is one of Eric Nuttall’s favorite stocks. He is a Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager with Ninepoint Partners LP. And it is starting to look like one of my favorite stocks as well!

In the past couple days, I invested again in TD Cash Management ETF (TCSH) and Harvest CNQ Enhanced High Income Shares ETF (CNQE) inside my TFSA portfolio. The TCSH is the perfect investment to park money in while figuring out what to invest in or just to hold to a more secure investment inside your portfolio, and still collecting some dividend income.

Back on March 5, CNQ announced a dividend increase of 6.4%. At $66.51, CNQ is not trading cheaply, but I still think it is worth the investment. If you want exposure to CNQ but would prefer a lower share price, the Harvest CNQ Enhanced High Income Shares ETF (CNQE) could be the solution. CNQE closed the session at $18.78 per share, which is still very affordable. CNQE offers direct exposure to CNQ, but at a lower price... and with a higher yield. That’s right. It almost seems too good to be true, but it is true.

Welcoming my highest net worth ever: $567,908.41 (but that was yesterday)

At least I reached my highest net worth, even for only one day! And that was yesterday.

I started the first trading day of March 2026 on a very high note. Yesterday, I was genuinely surprised to close the session at my highest net worth ever: $567,908.41. It felt strange to stand there feeling strong and proud while devastation continues in the Middle East.

Today was a completely different story. The TSX closed at 33,784.94 points, down 756.33 points (-2.19%) in a single day. We’re starting to feel the market’s reaction to the conflict in the Middle East. This could be one correction of many.

I don’t expect this war to drag on for very long. With the U.S. involved and with the resources it has, I believe it has significant leverage to push this conflict toward an end. I also have a more spiritual take. In some religious traditions, including certain Christian interpretations, war in Israel is seen as a sign of the “end times,” often associated with Armageddon. I’m not expecting the end of the world anytime soon, and for that reason alone, I believe peace will eventually come. My view is that this war cannot last indefinitely.

At this point, Iran appears relatively isolated. We don’t see clear signs that China or Russia are actively stepping in on Iran’s side. Both countries have too much to lose. Russia is already tied up in its own war, one it still hasn’t won in Ukraine, even after four long years. China probably doesn’t want to lose all of its manufacturing contracts with the West and Europe. Imagine China isolated on its own... It won’t happen

Conflicts in the Middle East have existed for as long as civilization itself. Even in the time of Muhammad, the region experienced wars and turmoil. To me, the fact that “end times” narratives are often tied to wars in this region reflect a way for prophets to brace themselves for conflicts they knew would continue, because this area has been a flashpoint for ages.

Several years ago, maybe in 2015, since that’s the year the film was released, I watched Muhammad: The Messenger of God at the Montreal World Film Festival. I encourage you to see it. It’s truly one of a kind and it sincerely touched my soul. I still remember some scenes to this day. It was also very instructive for me because I didn’t know much about Muslim religion at the time.

The Montreal World Film Festival was one of my favorite festival because it welcome the end of the summer, and it was always happening during the time of my birthday - August 27, so I always had something cool to do around that time.

From yesterday’s net worth of $567,908.41, I’m probably now somewhere around $564,000, or $563,000 at the very lowest. Of course, my net worth declined, but this is just one day out of 365. It could be the first of many bad days ahead, or it could simply be one rough day among many normal ones. You just never know.

A -2.19% drop is no fun, but it’s not catastrophic, at least for now.

At this point, and sincerely, like always, but now more than ever, it’s one day at a time. Something I feel that I say a lot on this blog is that each day is a different one on the stock market. It’s time to be disciplined with savings, as always, but especially now. We could see price increases across many goods and services, depending on how long this conflict lasts.

I recently received my Fortis and Enbridge dividends. They’re set up on a DRIP, and going forward I should be around $1,025 in monthly dividend income from my non-registered and TFSA portfolios. So it’s not all bad, you’ve got to take the wins where you can.

Welcoming—once again—my HIGHEST net worth EVER. This time around, it’s $565,828.54

While watching the TSX close today’s session at an impressive 34,501.96 points, I knew I was in for some great gains. So, once again, I updated my investment portfolio page. It’s the third time I’ve done so this week. I ended today’s session at my highest net worth yet: $565,828.54.

In case you haven’t noticed, I recently added a new investment to my TFSA and RRSP portfolios: TD Cash Management ETF (TCSH). This investment was suggested to me by a reader as a way to put my savings to work instead of leaving several thousand dollars sitting in my bank account. With interest rates being so low, there’s not much benefit to holding cash—although building up savings remains important. Since I had cash available in both my TFSA and RRSP portfolios, I decided to invest it in TD Cash Management ETF (TCSH).

Right now, stocks are expensive. Many are at all-time highs, which makes sense given that the TSX has moved past 33,000 points—and we’re even above 34,000! It’s quite something to watch. I’m enjoying the gains, and I publish a portfolio update whenever the market moves in my favor—which has been quite often lately.

That said, at some point, we’ll likely face a stock market correction of some kind. When that happens, it will be a better time to buy stocks. For now, especially if you’re already well established, it may not be the best time to add more. Whatever your investment cravings are at the moment, they can probably wait.

In the meantime, TD Cash Management ETF (TCSH) is a great place to park your money. TCSH pays a monthly distribution of $0.10, which works out to close to a 3% annual yield. So while you’re waiting for better buying opportunities, you can still put your money to work and collect a nice bonus. TCSH is also considered a very low-risk investment.

I invite you to look into TD Cash Management ETF (TCSH) and do your own research. I find it to be a very interesting option. My best advice is still to wait for a stock market correction before investing in individual stocks. The TSX is very appealing right now, but investing in stocks when they’re trading at all-time highs isn’t always the smartest move, and I know a thing or two about that. I’m at $565,000 today because, back in 2008, I took advantage of the stock market crash to invest. There’s no magic trick. Patience is key.
