Saying thank you and goodbye to LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK)

I sometimes can be quite slow in doing my investment moves, but I way prefer to be a slow investor rather than doing whatever too quickly, and having some regrets. I don't have any regrets on my investing decisions, but its true that in some occasions, I could have done better. At this point, I was really ready to sell off all of my shares of LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK). The value of that stock had been on a decline for quite some time, but I had been able to make around $200 profit on it today. It's a small gain, but I take it anyway. On Stockopedia, LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK)'s StockRank is below 60 - which is super low - knowing, 100 is the best, and the lower it is, the worst your stock is... This was just my time to sell LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK).

Following this, I bought some BCE Inc. (BCE) shares. I want to hold on to some stocks that will gain value over time. With LWRK, I was basically going no where. This brings my dividend income earned inside my non-registered and TFSA portfolio to $9,073.41. Including the dividends earned inside my RRSP portfolio, my overall dividend income is currently at $10,911.21. It's not too bad, but obviously, I would like to earn more from my dividend income.

I own many stocks inside my investment portfolio and many of them are very great performers. In the past, I had write some performance reviews. I had try to find one those posts to share them right here, but I haven't find any of them yet. Anyway, I think its time I post a fresh new performers review and I will do so soon in a next post.

Other than LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK), I have another stock that I am starting to worry about. That stock is Savaria Corporation (SIS). I hold on to some SIS stocks in my non-registered, TFSA and RRSP portfolios. I done very well with Savaria Corporation (SIS) inside my non-registered porfolio. But now, Savaria Corporation (SIS) is kind of bit in the same posture where had been LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK). For the past year, Savaria Corporation (SIS) value had been decreasing. However, if we look at its chart for the past  two years, things are a bit better. I am still on several thousands of profit when it comes to SIS. I am not againts Savaria Corporation (SIS), but I begin to think that I may be holding to too many of those beautiful SIS stocks and I am thinking about partly selling. I wouldn't mind selling and inject the money to pay down my margin debt. That could be an interesting option. For now, I am just thinking, but I know I would like to partly sell my SIS stocks. Its just where I am at the present time.

Another thing I am thinking about is to take my Intertape Polymer Group Inc. (ITP) shares that I hold in my non-registered portfolio, and have them transferred over my RRSP portfolio - as a contribution in kind. I never did a contribution in kind from my non-registered portfolio to my RRSP one. But I am quite familiar with the process when it comes to my non-registered portfolio to my TFSA one.

One of those stocks on which I kind of have a really open love-hate relationship is ATCO Ltd. (ACO.Y). Ever since that stock had been in my TFSA portfolio - and it had been a while now - that stock never really kick in in term of grow. But imagine this: currently, ACO.Y is on a gain of +1.55% inside my TFSA portfolio and I just can't believe it! Let's hope it will at least remain on that gain for a long time please. I cannot help it. ACO.Y is such an undelicate obsession.

On that super high note, my non-registered portfolio closed today session $146,893.01, my US portfolio at $5,172.28 US, my RRSP stocks only portfolio at $67,347.08 and my TFSA portfolio at $129,772.33.

I am ready to say thank you and goodbye to LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK)

Yesterday, it had been raining for the biggest part of the day. When it finally stopped raining, the weather was just too cold for my taste. However, today was quite nice. Spring is in New Brunswick! And this is what it's looking like around here:

Look what I find! A nice truck :-)
The sidewalks are really dirty, but that's spring.

You know that you live in the middle of nowhere and like it deeply when you get to understand suddenly that an orange truck is the most exciting finding you made in the past couple of days :-) It's not a Toromont truck, but it's quite a cool-looking truck anyway.

I still haven't received my tax refund from Quebec province, I am just waiting and waiting. And while I am still waiting, the TSX is still under 22,000 points. My non-registered portfolio closed today session at $146,978.85, my US portfolio at $5,212.39, my RRSP portfolio - stocks only - at $67,480.69 and my TFSA portfolio at $130,354,03. I think it will take some time before I ever see again my TFSA portfolio in the $134,000.

I am thinking more and more about selling all of the stocks that I hold of LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK) inside my TFSA. I had been thinking about this for a little while and I really begin to think that LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK) is not good enough to be in my TFSA portfolio. I also currently have a bit of cash just waiting to be invested in something inside my TFSA portfolio. I taught it might be a good idea to combine that cash altogether and invest it all in a few more shares of BCE Inc. (BCE). This move would bring my non-registered and TFSA dividend income to an equivalent of close to $757 per month. Not so bad. While collecting dividends inside my TFSA portfolio, I always try to reinvest the money in quality dividend stock payers. If you are feeling a bit lost and have just no idea what to do with your money at the present time, you can certainly keep the money in your saving account, and you can always invest a bit in JFT Strategies Fund Class A Units (JFS.UN). JFS.UN is a reliable fund and it might help you wake up your animal killer instinct while you are trying to figure things out.

I feel like bad stocks like LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK) that I held to are just on my way and keep me from being at my best. It's like LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK) is pulling me back. Currently, I want dividends and I also want good performers. I have all that with BCE Inc. (BCE). Yes, BCE Inc. (BCE) is already in my portfolio, but I don't have a huge amount invested in it. That's why I am feeling ok investing in it again. Sometimes, the best options and the most profitable ones are the easiest ones. And I like it easy.

That's why I won't ever consider real estate as an investment. That's just me. Owning your own place comes with responsibilities and I don't want any of that.

I also currently have a small amount of money available inside my RRSP portfolio to invest.

Yes, the Dividend Girl had been shopping on Etsy

The federal budget had been announced today. Nothing too much exciting, if not that dental health care program for seniors. My old folks will be able to benefit from that program in 2023. Otherwise, I don't see anything really exciting coming from this budget, it's not really a budget full of awesome projects to really help structure and face our current difficulties with inflation. It's basically as if the federal government has no plan to help us beat up inflation. I think the federal government actually likes this state of inflation and plans to do nothing much to help to decrease it. From my understanding, foreigners won't be able to buy a house anymore in Canada. It was about time that we kick non-citizens out of our real estate market.

I am not big on online shopping, but where I am located in New Brunswick, we don't have many fancy stores, and I must admit, I do some online shopping from time to time - but most of the time, I end up buying nothing lol. However, about two weeks ago I made an order on Etsy. I was looking for an everyday pair of earrings. I currently only had a pair of loops, but they are not in gold and I cannot wear them permanently on my ears because they are also a little too big for that purpose. I was looking for something simple in gold, and not too expensive, please. I find what I needed on Etsy, on the page of a Montrealer jewelry designer, annielesperance.

I end up buying a pair of her empty circle 14k gold filled round studs earrings, which I find to be absolutely perfect. I also purchased from Annie Lespérance this gold hairpin for my hair. It's a bit tricky to put in the first few times you use it, but it stays on my hair gracefully once I figure it out :-) I really like her designs. You may like to shop Annie Lespérance on Etsy and you can certainly do so right here. I currently have a crush on that bracelet.

The TSX closed the day at 21,834.89 points. My non-registered portfolio closed the day at $147,204.80, my US portfolio at $5,129.33, my RRSP stocks only portfolio at $67,785.97, and my TFSA portfolio at $130,891.31.

Nothing new in New Brunswick, just a few remarks

For the past couple of days, the weather had been great in New Brunswick. I managed to walk at least 10,000 steps a day. I have a good step counter on my Samsung smartphone that helps to keep track of my progress. I had received my federal tax refund, but I didn't receive anything from the provincial yet. They can take all the time they need, as soon as I get that $500 extra one-time refundable tax credit, I will be happy. For now, the money will just remain in my savings for now. I don't feel comfortable doing any RRSP contribution at the present time.

I usually contribute to my RRSP only at the end of the year. I prefer to do so for common-sense reasons. I would feel bad having contributed thousands of dollars over my RRSP before the end of the year and experiencing a layoff or something before the end of the year. I don't have too much in savings, so it would be heartbroken to deal with something like it while I had invested a bunch of money in my RRSP. RRSP sucks so much that you cannot withdraw money from it without facing any penalties. Everything is fine at work, I even recently got a little salary raised, but I prefer to play on the safe side. I don't take things for granted, even for one second.

The TSX closed today behind the so beautiful 22,000 points, at 21,788.60 points, leaving my non-registered closing the say at $146,682.70, my US portfolio at $5,111.74, my RRSP portfolio - stocks only - at $67,698.84 and my TFSA portfolio at $130 491,85. Fact that the Bitcoin value is down is not helping my TFSA portfolio. I began to have a little sum of money coming from my dividend distribution available to invest in my TFSA. But I didn't set myself on anything else.

A couple of years ago, I used to have Premium Brands Holdings (PBH) in my investment portfolio. I no longer hold to some PBH stocks, and I am glad I don't because it seems like these days, the value of Premium Brands Holdings (PBH) just keeps going on since probably October 2021. And of top of that, Premium Brands Holdings (PBH) doesn't appear on any Stockopedia screens. When a stock is from any Stockopedia's screen, that's actually a good indicator that you may want to simply ignore that stock from the time being. A good Canadian quality stock will always appear on a couple of screens. If you would like to see it by yourself, you can subscribe to Stockopedia by using my referral link right here. By using my referral link, you'll qualify for a 2-week FREE trial and 10% lifetime discount for as long as you decided to subscribe.

It's one thing to buy a stock at a bargain price, but its another thing to buy a stock who seems to be just experiencing a steady and long decline. At the end of the day, you don't need to be a financial expert to figure things out. You can certainly go a long way strictly with good common sense - like the one owned by New Brunswickers - and a little bit of help from Stockopedia.

Thank you for the beautiful month of March, TSX!

It's hard to believe but we are already in the month of April and spring is in the air! The winter had been quite rough in new Brunswick. It's been a very cold winter, we barely have no wood left to burn, and we didn't have much to start the winter with. I had been freezing my ass around here all winter long, and it hasn't been fun. Trying to heat an entire home - at least in New Brunswick - with only electricity is just really uncomfortable. Despite being a New Brunswicker born and raise, I am extra sensitive to the cold weather. When it's in the -20 outside, it's like I am feeling the cold in my whole body when I take a look outside...

This being said, I really don't mind when it freezes at night. I actually prefer when it's cold at night. I don't like to have the heat open during nighttime, it made me feel like I am suffocated. I hope my old folks will get organized better next year if not, I will definitively not be spending another long winter here in New Brunswick with no wood, and just electricity heating. Here in New Brunswick, we experimented with some restrictions because of Covid during the winter, like so many other places, but it made it even more difficult because the only available activities were basically shoveling snow, and walking outside when the weather allow it, and shopping at Walmart (my favorite winter activity lol). We also went to the library a couple of times to borrow some books. But it was basically it. Always being home without real activities was sometimes boring. I think the entire world - including me - is in deep need of activities and going out. For that reason, fact that Live Nation Entertainment was among Brian Madden's top picks during his last appearance on BNN just makes a lot of sense to me.

When I will be hitting back to Montreal, I will be incredibly happy. My major problem is that while living with my old folks I cannot do much, because I am scared of getting Covid and contaminating them. I am even scared of getting a haircut. I am planning to go back to Montreal at the end of spring, at the end of May, once I will be done picking up all the ferns that I possibly can. After and only after what, my job here will be done and completed. Another thing I want to do before I leave is to tidy up.

I am a bit of a hoarder but when I decide it's time to sort and tidy my belongings, I do so without any problems. However, it required a lot of time and it's kind of a heavy process each time. I still have things to look over here in New Brunswick. I actually had found a drawer full of old floppy disks that I have to check out, a bag full of power cords that I am just not sure what they are needed for, those kinds of random stuff... When I found those floppy disks I just cannot help myself, I taught I was done with the floppy disks cleaning because I managed to do all of it - but that was only for what I had in Montreal...

When it comes to clothes and shoes, I am quite good in that field, I just have what I need. However, when it comes to beauty and hair products - and even cleaning products - I have to be careful because I have a tendency to accumulate too many products. Confession of a sweet hoarder. However, be assured that I had been quite a good girl for the past couple of months. I concentrated mainly on saving up some money, my investment portfolio, and that help me a lot.

That being now confessed, a few days ago, on March 29, while noticing that my TFSA portfolio was somewhere in the $134,000, I knew I was up for another record net worth. So I quickly updated my investment portfolio just to find out that my total in assets had closed the same day at $405,658.35, and my net worth at $358,941.11. The month of March 2022 had been quite amazing for my finances. I began the month with a 347,57353 net worth, and I closed it within $358,000, which represents an increase of +$10,000 in one single month.

This past Friday session, my non-registered portfolio closed at $146,889.68, my US portfolio at $5,141.35 US, my RRSP portfolio - stocks only - at $67,402.69, andmy TFSA portfolio at $132,769.65.

We'll see what the month of April will be made of.

A possible option for my 2022 RRSP contribution: Quebec's Fondaction

The TSX closed this Monday session on a solid 21,977.83 points. Today, my overall stock-only portfolio gained only +0,037%, but I am willing to take any gain. I am standing proud and high on my highest value ever which is very close to the $360,000. At this point of the journey, I am still looking around for new stocks to invest in because that's my thing, but I am not looking to invest massively in one stock in particularly. And these days, I never do so. I can invest as little as one stock per new investment if I want to, thanks to National Bank Direct Brokerage's $0 commission. I am just doing so well that I don't want to mess it up. Obviously I won't, but I prefer to stay on the save side of things. I don't want to be over-exposed to anything that could hurt my beautiful results. Its just the way I am feeling right now. Just like if that almost $360,000 net worth wouldn't be here to stay too long...

We never know.

Currently, I am thinking about getting rid - or majority sell - my LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK) stock that I hold inside my TFSA portfolio.

My non-registered portfolio closed the session at $147,766,10, my US portfolio at $5,141.38 US, my RRSP stock only portfolio at $66 614,14 and my TFSA portfolio at 133 086,46.  Things are looking quite good on there. My investment portfolio had been growing like crazy and I am enjoying it. The total asset that I own over National Bank Direct Brokerage is now exceeding $350,000. Bitcoins and Ethereum are both making some interesting gain.

At a point during the day, Bitcoin was in the $60,000 CAN. Trust me when I say, I just cannot wait to sell at my profits my Bitcoin Fund The Class A units (QBTC) and Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B) units. I think we are going in the good direction to see that happen in a couple of weeks. When it comes to 3iQ CoinShares Ether ETF (ETHQ), I only have a small investment in it, but I really like Ethereum and I would like to keep that investment inside my TFSA portfolio.

I have a few dollars available inside my TFSA and RRSP portfolio that are just laying there doing nothing. While checking out on my options, I found out that Brian Madden, chief investment officer at First Avenue Investment Counsel was from today BNN's Market Call. Here's Brian Madden opinion on what I considered being one of my favorite stock, not to say my favorite stock: Toromont Industries Ltd (TIH). I like TIH right from the start. This stock is so strong, its one of my many stocks that help me to turn into a rich girl who can buy her neighbourg home if she wants do. Its actually selling for $180,000, but I am not interested in buying it. I just don't consider myself as being "rich" enough to be a homeowner. Also today, Brian Madden talked about Open Text, which I own a few stocks. I find his opinion to be interesting. I agree on what he had to say about Open Text. I actually like to listen to Brian Madden interviews at BNN because I always find that he's interesting. And I mostly agree with him.

Brian Madden is chief investment officer at First Avenue Investment Counsel. It seems to be a firm that manage rich people money. The minimum amount to invest with them is not currently disclose on their web site, but I remember that the information was once in there at that time and it was something in the $300,000 or $350,000. I am not against the idea to have professionnals to manage my money, but it wouldn't be all of what I have, that's for sure, just a slice of it.

Parex Resources Inc. (PXT) is a stock pick of Brian Madden. I find it to be interesting and I am keeping the stock ticket on the side, just in case. I had spotted PXT back in 2019, but I never invested in it. Could I now invest even just a small amount in PXT? Maybe.

While experiencing a big tax refund for 2021, I know its still early on, but I am already thinking about my 2022 RRSP contribution. I know that I need to contribute at least $6,000-$7,000 in my RRSP to make it worth it. Its quite an amount. I was thinking to invest a $2,000 in Fondaction. Its a nice option for Quebeckers - which I am - for RRSP contribution, because the government offer an 30% until a certain amount. You can read it all here.

Surprise! I just closed the trading day - again - on my highest net worth value EVER: $357,075.04

I wasn't expecting it, but I closed the day on a very good $357,075.04 net worth with a total in assets of $403,792.28. I got the help of a big paycheque, and a little bit of help coming from the TSX, who closed today's session at a great 22,005.94 points. I didn't receive yet the close to $2,000 that I am expecting for my tax refund. I don't know if this will last still for very long, but for now, I am enjoying my strong numbers, and I published portfolio investment update after portfolio investment update as long as the numbers play in my favor - and oh yeah they do.
