Welcoming my highest net worth EVER: $568,481.12

I hope you all had a nice Easter! I decided to spend mine in New Brunswick. I am heading back to Montreal very soon. As always, I am heavily packed. I cannot help but laugh at myself, but packing for the winter is always a difficult exercise for me.

I actually spent the months from October 2025 up to now in New Brunswick, so in that sense, packing for the fall and winter months is not too difficult. One of the reasons for that is to save money, but by February or March, I would have liked to go back to Montreal, then maybe come again to New Brunswick in the spring to help my elderly parents with the house, then go back to Montreal after two weeks, return to New Brunswick for a few weeks in July or August, go back to Montreal, come back for hunting season, return to Montreal as soon as hunting season is over, and then come back to New Brunswick for the holidays. Ideally, that is how I would do it.

But since COVID, there has no longer been a bus between New Brunswick and Quebec, and I cannot travel back and forth as much as I would like. It is one of the reasons why I spend the whole winter in New Brunswick. It has been a bit difficult, but on the bright side, it has helped me save several thousand dollars. I can save money more easily while being in New Brunswick because I do not do many activities that require spending money, and I go to restaurants only once a week, on weekends.

Right now, I am only dreaming of a good haircut. I cut my hair myself once while being in New Brunswick. It turned out okay, but it was obviously not perfect. Now I am torn between getting new highlights, getting a new haircut, or simply doing those things myself. For the highlights, I would rather have them done at a salon. For the haircut, I could probably manage on my own to save money, but I am not sure. I always spend more while being in Montreal, but this time around, I really want to work on myself and try not to spend as much as usual.

That being said, I am happy to announce that I closed today’s session at my highest net worth ever: $568,481.12. It is quite a terrible thing to experience such great gains while the war in Iran is still going on. Since a ceasefire was announced earlier today, the markets are up, and I would not be surprised if I closed tomorrow with a net worth of $580,000. That may be too optimistic, but it could happen. It is somewhat shameful to experience such great gains while so many others are suffering right now, but there is nothing I can do to resolve the matter except pray that this ceasefire will quickly lead to more peaceful talks.

I am now at my highest net worth ever, and also at my highest level in terms of dividend income. I am now at the equivalent of $1,035 in dividend income coming from my non-registered and TFSA portfolios. I invested more than $10,000 in the TD Cash Management ETF (TCSH) inside my TFSA portfolio. Some of my investments are in very conservative assets. When it comes to TCSH, I consider that investment to be part of my savings, so I personally consider myself to have over $16,000 in savings, which is very good for me.

With inflation and the price of everything being so high, I went to our regular Chinese buffet with my elderly parents for Easter, and believe it or not, it cost me $52, tip included at 20%. I find that quite expensive for what it is, but it was fun.

I will try to publish a portfolio update tomorrow, but I am counting down my last few hours in New Brunswick, so do not be surprised if you do not see many updates from me.

I can easily see myself sitting on a $600,000 pot of gold sometimes in 2026.
